Roots of Peace has helped renew production in Croatia’s wine-growing regions, has removed 100,000 land mines in Afghanistan while encouraging farmers to convert from poppy farming to grape growing, and has helped clear landmines in Angola and Cambodia.

For those of you who are concerned about your contribution to global warming (hopefully all of you!) Carbonneutral.com allows you to calculate the carbon emissions that your cars, homes and air travel create and to off-set these by donating to carbon-neutralizing activities. We're implementing a policy so that every time our trip leaders fly we'll neutralize their carbon emissions and we encourage you to do the same when you travel.
